Levoit LV-H126 Review

My Levoit LV-H126 review sets to accomplish one small goal. To evaluate this  vintage-ish odors  eliminate and to return an objective option as to its overall potency. I’ll cut to the chase and tell you what the Levoit LV-H126 is and is and isn’t. The CARB-certified Levoit LV-H126 Allergen and Odors eliminator is a hard worker and keeps at it until you power it off.

Levoit LV-H126 Review
Not exactly exactly sexy, but it works really well. No a single smart feature, though, but that’s not bid deal, right? I mean, the thing works..purifies the air makes your interior environment more habitable.

But if you don’t like home appliances that are deficient in fancy, modern features, buy something else. Operating this compact air purifier is a completely manual affair. But is  that a bummer, one that would steer  you away from this  clean air pump?  No.

People don’t buy a portable air cleaner because it looks cute. Rather, they choose it over its competitors because it helps them solve a problem. And this Levoit air purifier does help the user solve a huge problem: indoor air pollution.

Overview

The Levoit LV-H126 features a noticeably different shape and design than other Levoit air purifiers. While it’s not the only Levoit with a rectangular shape, the look is somewhat boxier

The machine has a vintage-ish look to it. Unlike most Levoit air purifiers, this one offers single-knob controls. And it’s hard to think of it as sleek. The LH-H126 is like a jeep — built-to-last, but not exactly cute. If you’re looking for a modern-looking machine with a multiplicity of fancy touch buttons, pick something else.

Purification Coverage

Like the Levoit Vista 200, the Levoit LV-H126 demonstrates a purification coverage of 161 square feet. It’s suitable for rooms measuring roughly 12 ft x 14ft. x 8 ft, and that’ s  pretty much a regular U.S. bedroom. As you can see, this air purifier boasts about the same air purification might as the Levoit Vista 200. Yes, the LV-H126 may not look as nice as the Vista 200 air purifier, but no one ever accuses it of laziness.

I don’t think you should use this air purifier in your office, though. Everyone uses touch-screen devices these days, you know. Some people might (customers?) think you’re old-fashioned and probably not innovative at all! But hey, it’s your decision.

Filtration Technology

The Levoit LV-H126 banks on a comprehensive 3-stage filtration to take out allergens and other air contaminants.

A black fine preliminary activated-carbon pre-filter attaches to the back of an advanced HEPA filter. This pre-filter removes bacteria, mold spores, pet dander, and other airborne particles. And since the prefilter contains activated carbon, it should also help eradicate odors and VOCs. Think of the LV-H126 as a True HEPA air purifier that removes bad smells really well thanks to its having 2 odor-reduction filters.

The HEPA filter is a large-surface area media that traps dust mites, dust particles, pet dander, mold, and more. The main filter kind of repeats what the prefilter does so you can get pollution-free air. The third filter is a high-efficiency activated carbon filter designed for odor elimination.

The Filter Replacement Wheel

The LV-H126 has a filter replacement reminder of sorts, a manually operated wheel at the back of the unit. With this reminder, no light comes on reminding you to change the filters.

How does the filter replacement wheel work? You can use a small screwdriver to turn the wheel to the month you replaced the filter.  Alternatively, you can flick the wheel until the needle points at month 6 counting from the current replacement’s date.

The wheel has numbers 1 to 12, and each digit stands for a specific month, 1 to 12. But a regular filter-check indicator would be more preferable for most users I guess? But at least, there’s a reminder.

The HEPA and odor filters last about 6-8 months, but the prefilter needs to be replaced every 2-3 months. Fortunately, the LV-H126 comes with 2 bonus prefilters. And what replacement filter does the LV-H126 need? Search for the LV-H126-RF on Amazon or wherever.

Air Circulation for the LV-H126

The Levoit LV-H126 has unfiltered air getting in via the back and clean air exiting via the front. The front side features a cover made of a denim-like material. This cover somewhat obstructs airflow, but purified air comes out more forcefully through the openings between the housing panel. But does that improve the fan’s cleaning power? No. I feel Levoit included the fabric cover mainly to add a little color and elegance, enhancing the purifier’s aesthetics.

Certifications

The LV-H126 boasts the following certifications: CARB, ETL, CE, RoHs, and REACH. Evidently, the air purifier is safe to use for all consumers regardless of their health situation. By the way, this product emits zero ozone, making it ideal for anyone with breathing issues.

Power Consumption and Noise Levels

The unit’s power-rated for 35W, making it a lighter consumer than any Levoit air purifier I’ve reviewed up to now. The Levoit Vista 200 consumes up to 60W while cleaning precisely the same amount of space. That’s a little surprising, isn’t it?

What about noise levels of the LV-H126? A control dial below the front cover lets you choose one of 3 fan speeds, 1,2, or 3 (Low, Medium, or High). The loudest the unit ever roars is 52 d; it’s as quiet as any Levoit air purifier you may choose.

Pros

  • An irresistible price
  • Great for pet odors and other bad smells
  • No finicky control panel
  • 2 extra prefilters
  • Adequately certified

Cons

  • Not super sexy
  • Looks a little dated
  • No smart features

Buy this portable air cleaner if performance rather than appearance is the most critical consideration for you. The price is great, but I feel it could get a little lower. Quite a few sub-$50 air purifiers look a lot nicer, offer similar cleaning capability, and are smarter.

Levoit LV-H126 Review: Conclusion

But yes, the LV-LH126 purifies the air and does it effectively. And as far as Amazon customer reviews, many users love this product. I recommend it. Every pet owner who loves their pet but hates their body odors may want to buy this option. But it’s a little dated as mentioned above. And it’s a small room air cleaner (for super small rooms).
